Happy Father’s Day to everyone except Paul Ryan! The Speaker of the House took to social media to post a video about how becoming a parent changed his ambitions and life focus. Cool story, bro. Maybe these sentiments would be more heartwarming if you weren’t supporting the Trump administrations hideous policy of separating families at the border. Maybe your love for children would be more believable is you weren’t complicit in building tent cities to imprison children. Just a thought.

The Twitter backlash to Ryan’s tone deaf post has been swift and merciless, with some of our favorite celebrities and public figures weighing in. Here are some of our favorite clapbacks to the spineless Speaker of the House.

Are you horrified by the separation of parents and children at the border? You’re not alone, and efforts are mobilizing to to help the victims of this hideous policy. First, email/tweet/fax/call your representative and senators and urge them to join the fight against family separation. Second, support a non-profit working towards helping these families. Here are a few to get you started:

The ACLU, of course.

Al Otro Lado, a bi-national organization coordinating legal services for immigrants and refugees.

The Florence Project, which offers free legal services to people in ICE custody.

Kids in Need of Defense makes sure that no child appears in court without adequate legal representation.

RAICES is the largest immigration legal services provider in Texas.

And of course, for the love of all that is good and just, make sure you’re registered to vote.
