Felicity Goes Goth In New Arrow Promo Shot, Causes Speculation She May Be Another Comic Character

God gave men brains larger than dogs so they wouldn't hump women's legs at cocktail parties.

The official Arrow twitter account posted this teaser image of this week’s episode “The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak.” Look familiar? Well, many fans had a bit of a freak out thinking actress Emily Bett Rickards might be another comic book character; namely, Death of the Endless from Neil Gaiman’s Vertigo comic series The Sandman. Except that’s probably not the case.

First, you have to consider The Sandman is already being developed as a separate project by Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Second, it makes no sense. We already know Felicity was a hacker before finding her way to Queen Consolidated… her being Death would be an extremely odd turn of events. And, well, the hacker goth chick trope is strong with this one.

The other character she could potentially be, even in a vague sense, is Black Alice but I still think this is just their way of showing us a different side of Felicity. A side I’m going to guess I’m going to wish was still around once all is said and done because… I kind of love this look.
