DIY Man-Sized Fire-Breathing Piranha Plant Makes Us Wonder Why It Took This Long to Make One [Video]
Hack A Day’s Caleb Kraft impressed us last week with a replica of Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, that actually shot lightning. Well, it sparked pretty mightily, anyway, and that was good enough for us. This week, Kraft is back with a new project in the same vein — a model of the iconic piranha plant that stands over six feet tall and shoots fire from its gaping foam maw.
Kraft’s model of the iconic piranha plant is capable of spewing flame using two different systems. In the yard, a design powered by compressed air shoots highly flammable non-dairy creamer blazing six to ten feet into the air. The”indoors” version, meanwhile, is a butane-powered flamethrower that burps great palls of fire a comparatively puny two or three feet in the air. Needless to say, indoors is not exactly a great suggestion of where to use that version if you like things like ‘your house not burning down.’
Needless to say, either one is pretty suitable for impressing your friends and striking fear into the hearts of your enemies. Unless your enemies are plumbers, in which case watch out, because they might just set this bad boy ablaze on general principle. You know, if the fireballs it shoots don’t do that first.
