Things We Saw Today: The First Aquaman Trailer Makes a Splash at Comic-Con

I never thought I'd be excited about an Aquaman movie but 2018 is full of surprises.

The cast of Aquaman took the stage at Hall H to present the first trailer for the latest entry into the DCEU, and it didn’t disappoint. The trailer gives us a look at Arthur Curry’s origin story, with the first meeting of his human lighthouse keeper father (Temuera Morrison) and Atlantean queen mother (Nicole Kidman). We then see a seen of little Arthur communicating with some fish in an aquarium, before a shark comes to his aid against some bullies.

The trailer also gives us a look at the kingdoms of Atlantis, and the armies astride giant sea horses, sharks, and one very large crocodile. What’s really striking about the trailer is its lightness: Aquaman is flooded with saturated color, stunning visuals, and a sense of humor. In short, it doesn’t feel like the previous DCEU movies we’ve seen. Consider us amped.
