First Trailer for Disney XD’s DuckTales Is Exactly as Awesome as You’d Hope

I was already filled with unreasonable amounts of glee when Disney XD released this video of the stars of their DuckTales reboot singing the iconic theme song, but I was not prepared for the joy brought about by the first trailer for the new show, which premieres this summer. Check it out above!

The trailer is less than two minutes long, and already I laughed or squeed out loud more times than I have watching full length episodes of some things. The humor feels modern without getting overly snarky, and the voice talent is incredible. I’m already loving Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan as Huey, Dewey and Louie, and hearing David Tennant do Scrooge McDuck for the first time was truly awesome. It’s not just the native Scottish accent, it’s the way that it’s clear from Tennant’s voice that he’s up for anything! Tennant gives Unca Scrooge spark and personality that’s true to his adventurous spirit.

And oh, Webby Vanderquack, how I love you! I loved her on the original show, and Kate Micucci (half of Garfunkel and Oates) kills it in the reboot. I love that she’s still sweet and loves her new duck “cousins,” but I also love that she seems a little more rough and tumble. Less of a hanger-on, and more the kind of girl who’s going to be included whether you want her to be or not.
