That long-rumored crossover between The Flash and Supergirl has just been confirmed! The episode airing on March 28th will feature Grant Gustin as Barry Allen joining forces with Kara Danvers. Here’s the official statement from the executive producers of Flash and Supergirl, Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg:
We are so incredibly excited to announce something that we have dreamed of happening since we started making Supergirl – The Flash and Supergirl are teaming up! We want to thank Grant Gustin for making the time to come visit (on top of his already immense workload) and all of the folks at CBS, The CW, Warner Bros. and DC for working this out. And finally thanks to the fans and journalists who have kept asking for this to happen. It is our pleasure and hope to create an episode worthy of everyone’s enthusiasm and support.
According to Variety, Supergirl is a more popular show than The Flash, at least in terms of viewership counts — perhaps National City’s beloved Kryptonian can help Barry boost his numbers. To be specific, The Flash averages 5.7 million viewers, while Supergirl averages 11.2 million viewers. The Flash is the top-rated show on its own network, the CW, while Supergirl has also soared to top marks at CBS. Definitely a team-up for the marketing books!
We can only assume you all will tune in for the Supergirl episode … but do you think this might convince you to check out The Flash as well?
