Ahh, how do we love Patrick Stewart? Let us count the ways on this week’s #FollowFriday, where we highlight an awesome Twitter feed that we think you should follow. And trust us — if you’re not following Patrick Stewart already, it’s imperative that you do so right this second. He is a delight.

Who he is:

What? Come on. You know Patrick Stewart. He was Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation. He’s Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men movies. He was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company for 20 years and has recently played Macbeth, Claudius, and John of Gaunt for RSC TV specials.

Why you should follow:

Because he’s the greatest, most adorable person to ever live. His tweets are full of magic and joy. Even if you don’t know him from any of his various acting roles, he’s just a wonderful human being who you can’t help but want to hug.

Great Tweets:

We featured this on the site yesterday, but it bears a repeat viewing. In fact, let’s all pledge to make this picture our desktop background. It deserves all the accolades possible.

As you must know already, Stewart and Ian McKellan are performing Waiting for Godot on Broadway. The reason you must know this already is because they appear to do nothing in their spare time but take adorable pictures with each other in New York. Bless you both, good sirs.

Of course, it’s not all fun and games at the House of Stewart — he also uses his celebrity status to make a difference in people’s lives. Case in point: this petition he tweeted out, which seeks to conduct a “Public Inquiry into Police and State Agency Response to Domestic Violence” in the UK.

Look at that; he’s so polite and unobtrusive that he doesn’t even ask his followers to sign it. He just wants you to look at it. But of course, everyone who can sign it is going to, because it’s an incredibly worth cause, and because it would make Patrick Stewart happy. You want to see him happy, don’t you? Of course you do.

Just look at that smile.
