Watch and Cry at the First For the Love of Spock Trailer

Adam Nimoy, son of Leonard Nimoy, raised over $662,00 on Kickstarter to make the documentary For the Love of Spock—a tribute to his father’s life and his role as Spock on Star Trek. The documentary includes interviews with many actors who worked with and knew Leonard Nimoy, including William Shatner, George Takei, Simon Pegg, and current Spock Zachary Quinto, who provides narration.
Just hearing Quinto talk briefly about Nimoy a few months ago and watching this Omaze tribute made lots of us watery-eyed, and seeing the montage of different people holding up the Vulcan salute sets a very heartwarming tone for this documentary (spockumentary?). It definitely looks like it’ll be a touching celebration of Nimoy’s life and the influence he had on so many people across the globe. Adam Nimoy had said the film is a “personal journey” in addition to covering “never-before-seen home movies as well as Star Trek artifacts,” making it a movie for hard-core fans and newer ones as well.
The film will debut at Tribeca film festival this Saturday and be available for streaming later this year for Star Trek’s 50th anniversary. Will you be checking it out?
