New Fuller House Trailer Accidentally Feels Like a Memorial Video

Recommended Videos

We’ve been morbidly curious about Netflix’s new Full House series, Fuller House, for a while now. The trailer has finally dropped, and… it actually feels kinda morbid.

That might have been what they were going for. After all, the original Full House was about a widow, and Fuller House seems to have a similar plot, focusing on the Tanner daughters (one of whom is widowed), their friend Kimmy Gibbler, and their children. Still, Full House was a cheesy ’80s sitcom. Meanwhile, this trailer pans empty locations in a way that makes it feel like a memorial for the family that doesn’t live there anymore.

The thing is, there are also the voices of the old cast coming through the quiet — I guess to give us hope? Maybe it would’ve helped if we could’ve actually seen someone’s face. As it was, Comet the Dog seemed really desperate. Polygon has a really funny assessment of the trailer that frames it kinda like a dystopian horror movie.

What do you think? Can you see beyond the morbidity and to the show’s potential? Will you be checking out Fuller House when it drops in February?
