Artist Hetain Patel’s past work has included inspiration from Bruce Lee and Spider-Man, which makes pretty much everything he does unassailably excellent. His full-size transformer sculpture would be the ultimate geek decoration, and it would probably scare everyone in the neighborhood away from your house — so win-win.

Patel says the inspiration for his transformer sculpture comes from his father. No, his father is not Optimus Prime, unfortunately. The transformer is built from a 1988 Ford Fiesta, which is the same model and year as Patel’s first car, which his father gave him as a gift.

He even got his father involved in the creative process, and you can watch the two of them bond over building a life-size transformer in time-lapse in the video below. Best Dad ever. As a bonus, it’s set to some pretty classic power ballad montage music.

Amazingly, this is Patel’s first sculpture, and we certainly hope it’s not his last.

You should also check out the rest of Patel’s art on his website. Judging by his past influences, he’ll likely turn out some pretty interesting stuff in the future.
