Celebrate Star Trek‘s 50th by Going to Starfleet Academy With the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum

Recommended Videos

Admit it. If you’re a Star Trek fan, you’ve at some point wondered how you’d do at Starfleet Academy. Now, you have a chance to find out!

The Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum in New York city will be hosting a really cool exhibit in celebration of Star Trek‘s 50th Anniversary year. It’s called Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience, and it’s a 10,000 square foot exhibit that takes you through nine specialty zones that allow you to experience all of your potential concentrations as a Starfleet Academy cadet, like engineering, or communications.

According to The Daily Dot, “The Starfleet Academy Experience is the real deal, bringing a fully functional tricoder to the table as well as phasers and teleporters, all brought to life via RFID, projection mapping, and other innovative techniques.”

And the Intrepid Museum isn’t stopping there! Their Star Trek 50th Anniversary celebrating will continue throughout the year with Star Trek summer camps, sleepovers, and other awesome events! (Those summer camps and sleepovers are totally for adults right? *packs sleeping bag*)

Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience is a roving exhibit that will be starting in May to the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa. It arrives to the Intrepid in New York City July 8th and will run through October 31st.
