New Graphic Novel Series, Threadworlds, Announced From the Creator of Avatar: The Last Airbender
Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra creator, Bryan Konietzko, is coming to the world of comics with a new series that focuses on a young girl who loves science!
The graphic novel series is called Threadworlds, and it tells the story of a girl named Nova who wants to be a scientist and goes on an adventure to explore the universe! It’s being published by FirstSecond Books in 2017, and while Konietzko is definitely writing and drawing the first installment, he plans to bring on other writers and artists for future installments.
While he hopes that the books will inspire more girls to follow their passions in the sciences, he also wants the books to appeal to a broad audience, no matter the gender – much the way Avatar and Korra do.
Well, the art looks beautiful (and the bunny-like character designs look so cute!), and the story sounds like it could be exactly the kind of wondrous adventure that young readers need right now. We can’t wait to hear more about this project!
