George R.R. Martin Wants to Put the “Craziest” ASoIaF Fan Theory to Rest Once and for All
All theories must die.
You may remember earlier this year Martin confirming that fans have indeed guessed correctly on a few of their A Song of Ice and Fire theories. He also said he decided not to change direction because of that, which I’m glad for.
“From my point of view, the craziest one is the people who believe that I’ve actually finished all of the books, and I’m just sitting on them for some reason in order to get more money or increase the value, you know, to release them an appropriate point,” Martin told Huffington Post. “That’s a pretty crazy one, but there seem to be people who actually believe that.”
Perhaps it’s because Martin speaks as if the entire story is already written sometimes. Only, it’s really all in his head… at least until he sits down at his DOS computer to write it.
