How many times have you seen it, now?

GotG

Hey, a-holes, here’s something to get excited about: after a month in theaters, Guardians of the Galaxy has officially topped 2008’s Iron Man as Marvel’s biggest-earning franchise-starting film ever. Ooga awesome.

GOTG has already earned $586 million worldwide (despite not even having opened in some large markets yet), surpassing Iron Man‘s $585.1 million total. Director James Gunn had some kind words for Guardians fans on his FB:

In less-excellent Marvel news, Variety is up in my hood (Toronto) for TIFF and sat down with Robert Downey Jr. to talk with him about his new flick with Robert Duvall, The Judge. During their chat, Variety asked our favorite Stark (sorry, Ned) about plans for another Iron Man film, and the response was kind of tragic:

“There isn’t one in the pipe,” Downey said. “No, there’s no plan for a fourth ‘Iron Man.’”

[choked sobs]

Here, mitigate your Tony Stark-less feels and get stoked about Guardians opening in Japan this coming weekend by checking out these fantastic Japanese trailers for the film (featuring real raccoons!).
