Official Full-Length Trailer for Forward Unto Dawn Drops

Recommended Videos

In case you weren’t already aware, the good folks over at Machinima will be distributing a live-action Halo 4 web series called Forward Unto Dawn later this year. And the official full-length trailer was just debuted at San Diego Comic-Con. The best part? We only have to wait until October 5th to start viewing the series. Feel free to commence drooling at any time whilst watching.

Luckily for those that lack patience, Halo Waypoint has provided a tantalizing look at the story behind the series:

Set against the backdrop of a United Nations Space Command military academy, a group of highborn cadets are training to be the next generation of soldiers in the UNSC’s ongoing war with insurrectionists in the outer colonial planets. Among these cadets, Thomas Lasky struggles with his doubts about this war, and with the burden of expectations he may not be able to carry. As Lasky comes to terms with his potential as a military leader, the terrifying alien alliance known as the Covenant arrives and turns his world upside down. Inspired by the Master Chief, he must decide what it means to be a hero.

Though the trailer lacks any direct looks at the Covenant, there are certainly some glorious shots of Master Chief runnin’ and gunnin’. Plus, who can resist “Romance Interrupted by Alien Invasion” narrative hooks. The fans are liable to look past all the cliches and tropes because it’s live-action and might be the closest they ever get to a Halo movie. As long as we get to see Master Chief darting around with an energy sword, I’ll be happy.
