Pew! Pew! Ka-ching! Ka-ching! Han Solo’s Blaster Sells at Auction for $200,000
$200,000 is a small price to pay for a good blaster at your side, kid.
Han Solo’s iconic blaster pistol from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi has been sold at auction for $200,000. We don’t know the exact exchange rate from US dollars to galactic credits, but that had to have been enough to pay his bounty, right? Why not just give Jabba the gun, Han?
Before you try to correct us in the comments section — yes, Han used a blaster in A New Hope as well — notably to shoot Greedo (first) — but that original prop is not the one that was auctioned off. No one seems to know what happened to that one.
The one that did sell was on auction for 20 days, and quickly shot (first) way out of our price range. That sounds like a lot, and it is, but it’s also the very bottom of the expected price range for the sale, which was set between $200,000 and $300,000. The sale was made to an anonymous donor, who could maybe put the item back up for auction one day, and we’ll all have another shot (first.)
