New Character Shots for The Handmaid’s Tale Show a Grim Gilead
And a release date!
We got a first look at some gorgeous shots of Elisabeth Moss and Joseph Fiennes as Offred and Commander Waterford recently, which promised a vibrant adaptation of Margaret Atwood’s A Handmaid’s Tale. Hulu has released a new batch of images that show us what Samira Wiley, Ann Dowd, O-T Fagbenle, Yvonne Strahovski, Madeline Brewer, and Max Minghella will look like as their dystopian characters.
The season will consist of 10 episodes. From the images below, we can see how grim Gilead looks and how serious and contemplative it’s making our characters feel. Twisted fundamentalist regimes struggling with environmental disasters and a plunging birthrate will do that to you, after all.
Check them out below and let us know what you think!
Season 1 of The Handmaid’s Tale launches Wednesday, April 26th, 2017. Are you excited?
