— HBO (@HBO) November 17, 2014
Today the HBO Twitter account posted a mysterious image of a water tower. And hey, The Mary Sue figured out what it all meant!
We went to work googling and chatting amongst ourselves at the office and in the interest of journalistic integrity, it was Victoria who mentioned Westworld first. I just beat her to the tweet. I’m quickdraw like that.

And then they unlocked this Vine for us.
Westworld is a new adaptation of the 1973 film originally written and directed by novelist Michael Crichton and starring Yul Brynner as an android. Yeah.
This new version is being written by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy and produced by J. J. Abrams and others. It also boasts an impressive cast. We previously heard about Anthony Hopkins and Evan Rachel Wood joining the project but it will also star James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Thandie Newton, Miranda Otto, Rodrigo Santoro, Ed Harris, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Angela Sarafyan, and Simon Quarterman.
HBO says it will be a one-hour drama series and describe it as, “a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.”
