Kids Banned From Graduation for Staged Lightsaber Fight
For A More Civilized Age
Kevin Carr is a senior there and said he was in the lunchroom when this happened. He explained that the two boys are friends and planned a fake lightsaber, Star Wars fight. Then they were escorted out and given the suspension and the news that they would not be walking at graduation next Friday… “Nobody else got hurt from it, it wasn’t during the class periods or anything so I thought it was very innocent, an innocent prank as a joke,” said Carr.
And even if someone had severed someone else’s limb, lightsabers cauterize wounds instantly, which would make clean up a breeze. The school’s principal, Raymond Broderick, is taking a hard line with the two, however, saying that the situation could have quickly escalated out of their control and that they should have known better. The boys have submitted written apologies and have a hearing scheduled next week, where the possibility of them walking at their graduation will be discussed.
Naturally, there is a Facebook page about it.
