Honest Trailers Comes for The Princess Bride

Inconceivable!

Recommended Videos

It was bound to happen. It’s officially here. The Screen Junkies have come for The Princess Bride in the latest edition of Honest Trailers and, as per usual, it’s spot on. As part of their Fan Appreciation Month, in which subscribers voted on the movies they’d most like to see skewered, this one came in at number four.

This parody of “swashbuckling Medieval love stories” centers on a gallant hero (Cary Elwes) who rescues a beautiful princess (Robin Wright) from an evil villain (Chris Sarandon). Directed by Rob Reiner (When Harry Met Sally…, Stand By Me, A Few Good Men), the 1987 film features action, comedy, romance, polite banter and every single character repeating their one catchphrase throughout the story.

It’s a brilliant piece of cinema that will be around for a very long time. That’s probably because it was selected to enter the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. But if you’re in the mood to see an ’80s classic get taken down a few pegs, check out the above video. Then, be sure to watch the real thing in full, because it’s a great movie and you won’t regret it.
