Honey Boo Boo Has a Comic Book, and Now There’s Variant Covers
We cover a lot of comic book news here on Geekosystem, less so on news about reality television, but when those worlds collide it tends to get our attention. Honey Boo Boo isn’t the only reality personality to get the comic book treatment from Blue Water either. They have books about Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, and Charlie Sheen. They even a series about Adam West. Speaking of Adam West, someone please make a reality show about Adam West.
The different variant covers are exclusive to the digital distributors offering them. Jonathan Woodward drew a cover modeled after Wonder Woman’s first cover appearance on Sensational Comics #1. That cover is exclusively available through iTunes.
Honey Boo Boo is drawn as an homage to Supergirl’s first appearance from Action Comics #252 by Michael Troy for the Kindle exclusive cover. Troy wrote and drew the book, and did the cover art for the My Digital Comics and Wowio covers which also feature Honey Boo Boo’s pig Glitzy.
Blue Water Productions publisher Darren G. Davis said in a press release on the company’s site, “We heard that Alana wanted to be animated and wanted to be a superhero, so we granted that by having her in these iconic covers.”
We’ve never had such mixed feelings about a child’s wish coming true.
