How It Should Have Ended Takes Justice League and the DCEU to Task

how justice league should have ended

Recommended Videos

As I’ve said many times before, I want to like the DC movies. I just don’t. That, in itself, brings me no joy, but jokes are a way to ease the pain—and How It Should Have Ended has all the Justice League jokes you need to soothe the wounds left by this Franken-movie.

They hit all the requisite notes, like Superman/Henry Cavill’s badly CGI-erased mustache, how compelling—or not—a villain Steppenwolf was, and all the ways the heroes could have ended things a lot more efficiently. (Which, let’s be honest, is an area where tons of our favorite movies require extra suspension of disbelief.) Then, as always, they take things back to the café, where the criticisms of Justice League, along with the wider DC movie universe, get a bit more direct and incisive.

And, of course, there are the requisite jokes about Martha and characters who share names, whether Batman has moved on or not.
