How Old Is Nezuko From ‘Demon Slayer’?

Demon Slayer is one of the most popular anime and manga series of all time, and the former is still ongoing (although the manga just recently ended). You may have seen images of a tiny girl with a bamboo muzzle and have wondered—what’s up with that? Well, that is Nezuko Kamado and she may be tiny, but she is not as young as you may think.

Demon Slayer is about Tanjiro Kamado, a sweet cinnamon roll who sells coal for a living. One day he comes home after an errand and discovers his entire family has been murdered by a demon, except for his sister—Nezuko.

Nezuko has survived, but she was turned into a ferocious demon. But due to the power of love (and some hypnosis) she is cured of her bloodlust. In order to hopefully turn his sister back to normal, Tanjiro and Nezuko set out on a journey to become demon slayers, to kill the demon that slaughtered their family.

So, how old is Nezuko?

What is Nezuko’s age? When the series starts Nezuko is 12-years-old since she is one year younger than her brother. Between the first chapter and the end of chapter 5, time has gone and two years have passed. While stuck physically at age 12 because of the whole demon thing, Nezuko is 14 chronologically.

Can Nezuko change her age? Due to her demon abilities, Nezuko can change her size/age and appear “mature” in a slightly older form or can even make herself look younger and smaller than a 12-year-old.

Anime is weird and demon stuff only makes it weirder.
