How to Read the ‘JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’ Manga After Watching the Anime

Here's the rundown for your manga reading purposes!

Let me start this by saying, do not be a part skipper with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure manga or the anime. Quite frankly, it’s tacky to even call yourself a fan if you’re going to skip Parts 1-2 just to get to “the good stuff.” Truth be told, I don’t even want to engage with people who do this. Yes, I’m quite serious.

With shows like American Horror Story, you can most certainly enjoy the series without watching every season. But with a series like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, every part is important and lends to the continued story. Each Joestar contributes to the legacy and even if certain parts aren’t your favorite, they aren’t to be skipped. The only problem is that the only parts that have been animated in full are as follows:

  • Part 1: Phantom Blood
  • Part 2: Battle Tendency
  • Part 3: Stardust Crusaders
  • Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable
  • Part 5: Golden Wind (or Vento Aureo)

Part 6: Stone Ocean only has 12 episodes out on Netflix at the moment.

Ultimately it leaves fans, who are wanting to dive into the manga, wondering where to start reading. Despite how I’m a fan who hasn’t gotten far in the manga yet (for many reasons, but not because of lack of interest), I still understand how to read the series. Fair warning that official English volumes of Golden Wind are slowly coming out now. Happy reading!
