Well, no: what’s actually happening is the heat from the metal coin causes the carbon dioxide to rapidly sublimate (which is kind of like melting except it evaporates from a solid straight into a gas), creating air currents which vibrate the coin back and forth. But tell me it doesn’t sound like the coin is super pissed that you’ve more or less forced it to undergo its own version of the ice bucket challenge. Like, probably too pissed. I’d back away and stop touching it, dude.
