Meet the cast of Independence Day Resurgence #IDR 😎

20th Century Fox held a Q&A for the newly dubbed Independence Day: Resurgence last night with the cast and director Roland Emmerich to finally share news about the long-awaited sequel with its adoring public. Most importantly, we FINALLY know its abbreviation. IDR—that doesn’t sound confusingly close to ID4 or anything. At least it makes sense, though.

In addition to the cast picture above, they also released a few set photos showing Roland Emmerich excitedly standing in front of something called “The Moon Tug”:

OK but does it run on mid-’90s Mac OS?

And this also happened at the panel:

So that’s pretty much solid, scientifically verifiable fact, then.

Also revealed during the panel was that the movie will very much make its focus on a post-war generation after the events of the “War of 1996″—with orphans-turned-fighter-pilots, Sela Ward as a president who’s been preparing for round two for 20 years, and Jeff Goldblum as the director of Earth Space Defense. Yes, just like in those dreams you’ve been having.

For the superfan, you can watch a replay of the whole panel for yourself to make sure you don’t miss any important alien puppeteering or Goldblumming:
