‘Indiana Jones 5’ Trailer Does What I Expected and Made Me Sob
He’s back! After all this time, we finally have a trailer for Indiana Jones 5 and it brings us back into the fold with Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones. The first look, shared originally at D23 and then premiering for general audiences after CCXP, feels like coming home for fans of the franchise. We are finally back with our favorite professor and archeologist and god, I’m so excited. AND WE HAVE A TITILE!
The trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny finally is here for fans and oh my god, will I ever recover? Set both when Indy was younger (using the de-aging technology we’ve come to both love and hate) and in the 1960s when Indiana Jones is still a professor (yes, I cried).
It’s such an emotional ride back into the world of Indy that the trailer just feels like some kind of miracle. When the Indiana Jones theme hits in this? I truly and honestly could not stop crying.
Feels good to be back with Indy
I’m not the only Indiana Jones fan in this world and I know that. But at times, it does feel like other Harrison Ford properties have gotten more love and attention. Especially since Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was so hated by so many. But I still held out hope that the world would remember how good he is in this franchise.
And this trailer just really gave me such hope for this movie. And I was, happily, the one person to loudly yell about how excited I was for Indiana Jones 5. We don’t know much still about this movie, just a mix of Sallah (John Rhys-Davies) coming back to Indy to get him to help with something and the inclusion of Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Indy’s goddaughter Helena.
But god, I wish I could put into words the emotions that overtook me watching this. It just felt like we were back in those Spielberg films from the 80s. (Not that I dislike Kingdom of the Crystall Skull but it isn’t in the same league for me as Raiders, Temple of Doom, or my favorite Last Crusade.)
My point is, this is the trailer we really is just highlighting the important information about this movie and that is that Indy is back and he seems better than ever. I can’t wait until June 30th, 2023 to be back trying to save artifacts with Indy once more.
