Mom-of-the-Year Trades Infant for a Truck

Recommended Videos

I’ve been meaning to see how much I could get for the pickup that’s been sitting in my garage for the last few months. Well, if I drive over to Kentucky, I could get myself a baby. A couple from the Bluegrass State swapped their 1999 Dodge Dakota for a 6-month-old child. It turns out that the Kentucky authorities don’t take too kindly to that sort of thing.

Jeremy and Jamiee Brown are facing human trafficking charges for giving their pickup truck to Heather Kaminskey in exchange for her baby. She then quickly sold the truck for $800. Laurel County Sheriffs are now searching for Kaminskey, who hasn’t been seen in several days. The infant is now in state custody, meaning she won’t be traded for any automobiles again anytime soon.

I just have one question about this whole deal: Was it the truck or the baby that was up on Craig’s List? “1999 Dodge Dakota – $1000 Corbin, KY?” And what kind of conversation took place between these people?

“Hi, I was wondering if I could get the truck for a little less. I’m a little strapped for cash right now.”

“Well, $1000 is sort of our minimum. What were you thinking?”

“How about a baby?”

“Done.”

It’s a crazy world we live in, folks. That being said, I’ve got this Ford Taurus I’ve been wanting to get rid of for a year and a half and, while I would prefer cash, I’d be happy to take babies.
