Infinity War TV Spot Seems to Confirm Thor’s Losses and I Am Not Okay

We’re in the home stretch for Avengers: Infinity War, and the new TV spots are coming fast and furiously—including what could be confirmation that Thor has had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
The good folks over at Comicbook.com are so certain that this spot indicates what’s going to happen in Infinity War that they titled the video for YouTube, “Thor Loses Loki,” which, excuse you, we don’t 100% know for sure that this is what’s going to happen. (Although it’s probably what’s going to happen.)
There’s a few new scenes in this spot overall, like Doctor Strange startling Tony Stark and Pepper Potts in the park to request Iron Man’s help, and Bruce Banner saying with urgency, “Thanos is coming.” But what caught everyone’s attention here is the following exchange:
“You sure you’re up to this?” asks Rocket Raccoon.
Zoom in on a bedraggled, battle-weary Thor, who responds, with tears in his eye, “What more could I lose?”
We’ve been anticipating for several months now—based on trailers and the fact that Thor ends up blown into space and picked up by the Guardians of the Galaxy—that something goes terribly wrong with the Asgardian refugee ship last seen being eclipsed by Thanos’ flagship Sanctuary II in Thor: Ragnarok. We’ve seen Thanos crushing Thor’s head and Loki producing the Tesseract with the Black Order threatening him. But this is the first apparent confirmation that Thor is going to lose a lot. Whether it’s the entirety of his people, his brother, and his friends remains to be seen. (The Hulk at least escapes, and we hope Valkyrie does, too, though our fave Heimdall may well be toast.)
What we get from this scene is that the God of Thunder doesn’t seem to think he has anything left to lose at all—and my heart, it hurts.
Thankfully, we can always count on Rocket to have the snarky last word and lighten the mood a bit. “Me personally, I could lose a lot,” Rocket says.
What do you think? Has Thor really lost everyone, or could there be a heartwarming twist awaiting us? (Please let there be a heartwarming twist awaiting us.)
