Discord is an immense platform with a huge user base. With 150 million active monthly users, the social media platform is widely used by all kinds of people to communicate over long distances, run businesses, and keep in touch with faraway friends. But like all social media platforms, Discord is also prone to outages or connection issues. If you believe that Discord is down, you’ve come to the right spot—here’s how to check if the platform is having connection issues or is otherwise suffering an outage.

How to check Discord’s server status

Thankfully, compared to other media platforms, Discord’s status is considerably easier to ferret out. If for some reason Discord is having a hard time loading on your phone or computer, a popup will take you to a page where you can check Discord’s server status. This page consistently monitors the app every day and shows if there are problems ranging from API errors to server outages across various regions. There are even records of the server outages across the app going all the way back to its earliest days in 2012. With this handy website, it’s possible to check if there are outages at any point in time—but typically, if there’s trouble connecting or sending messages, chances are good that another issue might be at play.

Either way, with this website provided by the company, it’s a cinch to check whether or not the server is having issues—and there’s no need to refer to social media, news, or other third-party sites. It really can’t be overstated how easy it is to check the server status on the app, but as mentioned previously, if you find that you still can’t connect somehow, there’s likely another issue at play, be it WiFi connectivity issues or issues with device settings. Either way, it doesn’t hurt to check the server status first, and take steps from there if Discord just refuses to connect.
