For ages now (it seems) the internet has been swirling with rumors about characters and actors who might be appearing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Some have been easy to dismiss as wishful thinking, while others appeared to have a bit more validity to them. However, one of the biggest rumors about not just the Doctor Strange sequel, but the long-awaited (and possibly even further delayed) Fantastic Four reboot might have just been confirmed.

One of the largest, and most persistent, claims was that the film would bring in a major comic book hero to the MCU for the first time. Fans have gone back and forth over believing it or dunking on it, but a huge leak suggests it might be actually true. Marvel has already confirmed a few huge cameos with its Super Bowl trailer, including Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Captain Carter (Hayley Atwell), and Captain Marvel (Lashana Lynch). Carter and Captain Marvel can be seen duking it out briefly in one blurry shot! And Stewart has confirmed that Professor X will be in the film….which led to the confirmation that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be introducing the Illuminati.

In the comics, the Illuminati were a secret organization made up of several of the world’s most powerful superheroes. This included: Doctor Strange, Black Bolt (leader of the Inhumans), Charles Xavier aka Professor X, Namor the Sub-mariner of Atlanti, Iron Man (RIP), and…Reed Richards, founding member of the Fantastic Four. From what we know so far, Atwell’s Captain Carter, and Lynch’s Captain Marvel might also be a part of the Illuminati team. Mordo, (Chiwetel Ejiofor) is also a part of it and confirmed the Illuminati himself in the most recent trailer.

Now before we go any further, it’s time for massive spoiler warnings because we are going to be discussing the leaked scene. So please for the love of gods, goddesses, and the flying spaghetti monster itself, do not read further if you care about Marvel spoilers.

Is Mister Fantastic in Doctor Strange 2?

Rumors (and fan wishes) have been circulating for a long time that John Krasinski was tapped to play Reed Richard/Mister Fantastic in the upcoming Fantastic Four film. Krasinski has acknowledged that fans (and even himself) were eager for him to play the part but he has never confirmed his involvement officially.

And it appears that those rumors may have been correct because the leaked footage (which is still up on YouTube if you want to take a peek for yourself) shows a scene in which four members of the Illuminati meet Wanda. They are Captain Carter, Black Bolt (Anson Mount), Captain Marvel, and….John Krasinski. as Mister Fantastic.

The video itself was blurry, but it was clear who Mister Fantastic is (there was a giant 4 on his chest). We also know from the trailers that Wanda will fight Captain Marvel and Captain Carter, which means that the Illuminati’s attempts to reason with her will fail. There were also some leaked stills that indicate that this Mister Fantastic most likely does not survive his fight with Wanda. (There is a very blurry but suspect puddle on the floor after he tries to go elastic on her.)

Now, it is all very possible that this footage (and the stills) have been faked, which means the only solution is to go see Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when it opens this weekend and see for yourselves!
