Jaimie Alexander On Sif’s Role, Fandral, & The Comic Look Of Thor: The Dark World

My Spidey Sense Is Tingling

Jaimie Alexander’s work is officially over on Thor: The Dark World. That means we get to hear as much as she can tell about what Sif will be up to in the film. See what the actress had to say about the Sif/Thor relationship, the new director, and how the look of the film is very much like a comic.

Alexander was interviewed by iamRogue.com after she wrapped shooting on the Thor sequel. She told them this film is going to be a lot darker than the previous one with a lot more action.

“There’s a darker feel to this one, a little more gladiator-ish, a little more viking-ish so I’m really excited to see how it turns out,” she said. “We get to explore the, I guess, different realms a lot more. And you see a lot more Asgard and you get to know the people of Asgard.”

Not only will we see more of Sif but the Warriors Three, including replacement cast member Zachary Levi.

“It was slightly different because he’s a different guy, he’s not Josh Dallas, but he’s fantastic. I’ve been friends with Zack for years,” Alexander said. “It was great to have him on board. He is that guy. There’s many Fandrals in the world. He’s definitely Fandral.”

She also mentioned more character development for Sif. “I don’t know if I can say this but we sort of explore the Sif/Thor relationship a little bit,” she admitted saying it was “kind of” in the romantic sense. “It’s just more like getting a feel of who these people are and how they are the way they are with each other which was fun for me and fun for Chris [Hemsworth]. You know again him and I are almost like brother/sister types too so I was like maybe that translates into like ‘ooh they love each other’ on camera you know? It’s a little weird.”

As far as the look of Thor: The Dark World, the actress said it seems more comic-like. “I could read certain scenes and actually see how somebody would do the drawings on the page.”

But perhaps the best part of the interview was when Alexander went on about how nice the people she works with are.

“Maybe it’s because I scare the piss out of them,” she said.
