It’s Wednesday, so Here’s a Deleted Scene from The Phantom Menace of Jar Jar Binks Dying Horribly
We hope we just made your Hump Day a little lees... erm, humpy.
According to this recently surfaced deleted scene from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, something really bad was supposed to happen to Jar Jar Binks, and they kept it out of the final cut of the film. It’s okay, though! Somebody on Reddit supposedly found the footage, so now we can all watch it as much as we want forever.
Although, honestly, given what we know about the prequels in hindsight? I suspect that this wouldn’t have been the end for Jar Jar, anyway. Lucas loved that stupid little thing. No, he was definitely going to pull that stereotypical action-movie trope of surviving a waterfall and come back to save the day in the most annoying way possible. Why else would he act like he’s so afraid of water or when he literally lived in the ocean his entire life? I bet he was gonna jump out and be like SILLY HOOMANS MEESA CAN SWIM LOLOLOL and that would have been the set up for them meeting the King of the Gungans later on or whatever.
Still, that crunch at the end of the clip is pretty dang satisfying. As a matter of fact, let’s play it again.
