Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles Discuss Potential Supernatural Series Finale, Raise Your Hand if You Feel Personally Victimized By This
I know we don’t like to talk about it but, if I can borrow a few words from Aragorn, a day will come when Supernatural must end. We must fact the fact that Sam and Dean Winchester not be slaying demons and getting possessed every other week on our screens forever. However, it doesn’t look like that’s happening anytime soon. Still, this hasn’t stopped Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles talking about a potential series finale and—I’m sorry, is the air suddenly getting thicker in here?
The pair was asked about who they’d want to see return should that mournful day come. Keyword there is should because, according to Padalecki, it’s not gonna happen. “I don’t like to say, ‘When the show ends,’ because the show’s not going to end,” Padalecki told TVLine. “But when the show does start to wrap down, I would love to see Eric [Kripke] come back and give his opinion. Because he created us in the first place, so it would be an honor.”
Ackles added: “It would be a nice little bow on top of the whole thing [to] have Eric take us out.”
The sentiment is sweet and would bring things full circle, but no need to worry about that right now! The show just entered its 12 season and doesn’t appear to be slowing down any time soon. Now, let’s take a moment to appreciate this wonderful exchange between a demon hunter and his dearly departed father:
