Actor that we adore and Aquaman Jason Momoa is starring an co-writing a series with Apple TV about “the unification and colonization of Hawaii from an indigenous point of view.” Momoa will be writing the series with frequent collaborator, Thomas Pa’a Sibbett.

I think this is a fantastic idea and something Momoa clearly feels passionately about. The history of what was done to the people of Hawai’i is not spoken about as often as it should be. Apple has been able to put a lot of money behind projects, and so I hope it will do everything it can to ensure that it tells (and produces) the story in a way that does justice to the people of Hawai’i.
