Your Live-Action Jem and the Holograms Have Been Cast
Vital Information for Your Everyday Life
Nashville’s Aubrey Peeples will lead the cast of Holograms as Jem in Jon M. Chu’s production.
This according to The Hollywood Reporter. We previously told you about the adaptation of Hasbro’s toy line/animated series, which will unfortunately not involve series creator Christy Marx. We were also a little concerned when we realized they were starting production on the film rather quickly. However, I will admit, I do not hate the cast they’ve put together.
Writes THR, “The Holograms have also been cast: Stefanie Scott, who starred on Disney’s A.N.T. Farm, will play Jem’s sister, Kimber; Pretty Little Liars actress Aurora Perrineau will play Shana; and The Fosters ‘ Hayley Kiyoko has been cast as Aja.”
I’m not sure if these are official promo shots but they do come from the film’s Tumblr page:

The film is said to be rated PG and THR reiterates the premise, “Ryan Landels wrote the script, which, per the producers, centers on an orphaned teenage girl who becomes an online recording sensation. She and her sisters embark on a music-driven scavenger hunt — one that sends them on an adventure across Los Angeles in an attempt to unlock a final message left by her father.”
