Season 3 of Amazon’s irreverent comic book series The Boys doesn’t premiere until June, but the cast is already teasing what’s in store for the Boys and the Seven. One of the most highly anticipated episodes will take place at Herogasm, a weekend-long orgy of sex, drugs, and violence designed as a sort of spring break for the Supes to blow off steam. Herogasm is a notorious event in the comic books, and many wondered if The Boys would go there for the series. Naturally, Herogasm was a logical destination for the raunchy, ultra-violent series.

Jensen Ackles discussed filming the “Herogasm” episode during a recent panel at SXSW. Ackles joins the cast in season 3 as Soldier Boy, a Vought supersoldier from the 1940s that is meant to be a spoof of Captain America. He said of the episode:

“I think everybody knows that they somehow managed to tackle Herogasm this season. How they did that I will not say, but…holy sh-t. I’ll give you just a little story. I walked on set, not to say that I was in that particular scene or whatever, but I was working that day and I walked up to our camera operator who was eating a sandwich outside of set, he had his mask down. He was eating a sandwich, he had this really troubled look on his face and I said ‘hey man, what’s going on? How’s it going in there?’ and he goes, ‘Man, I’ve seen some sh-t today!’ And I was just like ‘Oh, Oh no!’ So yeah, good times.”

Season 3 of The Boys hits Amazon Prime on June 3, 2022.
