Do you remember where you were the first time you saw Chris Hemsworth as Thor? Well, the cast of The Avengers clearly did. Apparently Robert Downey Jr. was ready to take drastic action to knock the god that is Hemsworth down a few pegs. Joking on set, when Hemsworth came out as Thor to film scenes, RDJ wasn’t ready for how tall, charming, and good-looking the Australian actor would be and responded in a way that is very much what we’ve come to expect from Robert Downey Jr..

While on the Armchair Expert podcast hosted by Dax Shepard, Renner shared some fun behind-the-scenes stories from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including a story about Robert Downey Jr. on the set of The Avengers. “Yeah, he’s amazing, but we didn’t know of him, right? On the first day, we’re all parading around in our costumes,” Renner said. “So It looks like it’s Halloween. We’re excited, but equally feeling ridiculous. I feel like we all knew each other somehow, someway, except we didn’t know this Hemsworth guy, because he comes from Australia. And he’s the tallest, he’s the most good-looking… Downey was like, ‘We gotta break his knee. We gotta take him out. This guy’s too good-looking. He’s too tall, he’s too charming, f*** this guy.'”

Even Downey was swayed by the ways of Hemsworth. It’s truly hilarious that Downey was just locked and loaded with plenty of jokes about Hemsworth and his costume as the god Thor. Because, who hasn’t been there when looking at a picture of Chris Hemsworth, am I right?
