Jet Set Radio to Come to XBLA and PSN? Yes Please
As a die-hard Sega fan who had a Dreamcast and of all its games, pretty much the only one I ever have the urge to go back and play regularly is Jet Set Radio (or Jet Grind Radio, as it’s blasphemously called here in the states). With its awesome art style, off-beat subject matter and approach, and its incredible, incredible soundtrack, Jet Set Radio is probably one of the most under-appreciated franchises ever, which is why its so heartening to learn that it’s coming to XBLA and PSN.
A teaser trailer released today, while not quite explicit, makes it entirely clear that the Dreamcast game next in line to be resurrected for modern platforms is none other than the classic rollerblade-graffiti simulator. The only way I could be more excited is if they were bringing Jet Set Radio Future to XBLA. I still haven’t played that, having skipped over the original Xbox, although I could always go out and just buy a copy, I guess.
I have to preemptively recommend this game to anyone and everyone. It’s not perfect and sometimes it can get a little frustrating, but man, it is so worth it. Just remember, like the bootscreen says, vandalism is a crime, and Sega doesn’t condone it. Not like you could ever be a good enough artist to bust out stupid dope burners anyway. Just keep jiggling those analog sticks.
