Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard’s Actual Roles in The Dark Knight Rises
Officially Official
In which Susana laughs at the Internet Speculation Machine.
Okay everybody. After months of the internet tossing out ideas and getting really excited about them, and months of Marion Cotillard saying that she had a summer project but not which one specifically, we now know:
Marion Cotillard and Joseph Gordon Levitt will both be in The Dark Knight Rises.
They are not playing anyone you have ever heard of.
Nope. Not Talia Head, not Alberto Falcone, not Hugo Strange, not The Riddler. They will be entirely original characters.
Cotillard will appear as Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.
Gordon-Levitt will play John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon…
[Christopher Nolan] stated, “When you collaborate with people as talented as Marion and Joe, it comes as no surprise that you would want to repeat the experience. I immediately thought of them for the roles of Miranda and Blake, and I am looking forward to working with both of them again.”
This is why I will only give educated guesses and lists of possibilities when talking about potential Chris Nolan films. The man laughs heartily at your fan speculation and proceeds regardless.
