What’s Up With Jurassic Park 4? The Director Gives An Update.

Thank you for talking about Jurassic Park 4Colin Trevorrow, we were starting to worry.

Trevorrow was a recent guest on the Jurassic Park Podcast and happy to strike down rumors and give fans the low-down on the status of JP4. Because, let’s face it, after we heard the film was being put on hold, we might have spazzed-out a little.

We had hope, though. The film being pushed back was actually because they wanted to take their time and make it great. Trevorrow said it’s important to him, too. “This is not a paycheck gig for me and it’s not the movie that I’m making so I can make the movies that I really want to make,” he said, “I actually want to make a kick-ass Jurassic Park movie.”

Good. That’s what we want. And it seems the director has kept us in mind. He said, “It’s important to make a movie for the fans but I also have to remember that there’s a lot of people who just couldn’t care less and need me to make a solid case for why the hell there’s a Jurassic Park 4 in the first place, and I want to make a movie for them too.”

Previously, rumors gave way to a plot summary which would place the film on present day Isla Nublar, now the theme park John Hammond was always hoping for but with tamed dinosaurs. What did Trevorrow have to say about that?

“I saw some of the rumours on the internet and I would have all kinds of red flags going off if I heard they were going to muzzle a T-Rex,” he said. “So I would say don’t believe everything you read, there are way more insiders on the internet than there are in real life.”
