Jurassic Park sequels, uh, find a way. The fourth film in the series, dubbed Jurassic World will hit theaters June 12, 2015 and the team behind it is impressive enough to make us forget II III and just get really pumped about this.

Steven Spielberg won’t be back to direct, but is signed on as a producer. He’s joined in that role by Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. Marshall was an executive producer for the Indiana Jones and Back to the Future franchises, and Crowley produced the Bourne films.

That’s all well and good, but personally I’m most excited about their choice of Colin Trevorrow as director.

You said Colin Trevorrow is directing?

Say it again.

Colin Trevorrow is directing. That’s great because I love his film Safety Not Guaranteed which he made with writer Derek Connolly, and the two of them wrote the draft of Jurassic World that’s being produced, so I think it’s a safe bet that Jurassic World will have some sciencey angst, and I’m 100% down for that.

Unfortunately this means that things don’t look good for the last Trevorrow/Connolly project announcement I got really excited about — their remake of Flight of the Navigator. It’s listed as “In Development” on IMDB. We reported that Disney hired the pair to write the script for Navigator, so maybe they finished it and it’s amazing and it will be going into production real soon so I can see it please?
