Gurl Bye: Kellyanne Conway Calls Anderson Cooper’s Eye Roll “Sexist” and We All Wish She Went Back Into Hiding

Just ... stop.

We didn’t ask for Kellyanne Conway to make a comeback but here she is, ready to dish out a new onslaught of alternative facts. This time, she’s accusing Anderson Cooper of sexism for rolling his eyes as she went off on another nonsensical tangent. Cooper’s show played past clips of Trump praising former FBI Director James Comey, who was recently fired for “not doing a good job” according to Trump and not at all because he was investigating Trump’s ties to Russia.

“[Cooper] had me sit through a bunch of tapes showing then candidate Trump commending Jim Comey about Hillary Clinton’s emails, talking about him etc. And the fact is that they showed all these clips and it showed candidate Trump in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and I said ‘Hey, thanks for the trip down memory lane and talked about winning Michigan,’ and then he rolled his eyes,” Conway said during a Fox and Friends segment, according to Variety. Perhaps there was something in his eye? Like fatigue from all that deflecting?

She continued: “Let me tell you something, Hillary Clinton is in search of sexism as an excuse for why her disastrous candidacy and campaign lost six months ago. I face sexism a lot of times when I show up for interviews like that. Could you imagine having a male anchor on a network roll eyes at Hillary Clinton or a female representative spokeswoman for President Obama or President Bill Clinton? I think not.”

First off, holy logical fallacies Batman! I don’t have to imagine Hillary Clinton receiving disrespectful eye rolls for her elegant and direct answers to questions because we already saw that from Donald Trump during each of their presidential debates. But he was “being strong,” right? So presidential.

What Kellyanne fails to comprehend is that Anderson Cooper didn’t roll his eyes because she was a woman. He did so because rather than answer any question with a logical response, she dances around the topic and offers up a ridiculous soundbite instead.  I have no doubt that she’s probably experienced sexism and misogyny at some point in her life because, let’s be honest, what woman hasn’t? But in this case, she is way off base.

Then again, there’s a part of me that also believes no one can be this dense and she’s most likely manipulating the situation to her own advantage. Trump’s administration is really good at that, I hear. It’s frustrating to see her side with a league of sexists and brush off the women who point out the horrible things Trump has said about them only to cry sexism when it benefits her. The hypocrisy is astounding but sadly unsurprising.

I think it’s time for her to step out of the spotlight again and only return when she has something substantial to contribute to the conversation. In other words, gurl bye.
