Left 4 Dead 3 Evidence Found in Valve Tour, Blows Up Rumor Mill
The chocolate helicopter has landed.
Well, it looks like Valve may have finally conquered their fear of the number 3– When a few Redditors from the DOTA 2 subreddit had the opportunity to tour Valve’s headquarters in Bellevue, Washington, they furtively scoured the place for secrets, and found an email regarding Left 4 Dead 3. Let the speculation begin!
In a screenshot of employee Daniel J’s inbox, an email was found with a description reading “Restored L4D3‘s devtest unit test. Ran locally 6 times without an asset. There may be so…”
This isn’t the only recent event hinting at an L4D3: head honcho Gabe Newell had confirmed that the team’s been working on a Source 2 engine, which the email says L4D3 is supposedly running on. Adding more fuel to the fire is this countdown site that was put up in Russia last month that ends on August 21st.
Just remember that none of this has been confirmed by Valve, so don’t take off your skeptic hat just yet. Knowing Valve’s love of messing with the community about third installments, this could easily have been an elaborate prank if the employees knew that a tour would be held that day. Hopefully the end of that countdown will shed more light on these rumors.

- There’s also the rumor that Steam will allow game sharing.
- In the meantime, you can play Half-Life 2 on your Oculus Rift
- Will that German lawsuit affect L4D3’s development?
