Legend of Korra Creators Talk Cosplay, Art, and Comic Book Epilogues

Recommended Videos

Dark Horse Comics’ The Legend of Korra series, penned by the TV show’s co-creator Mike DiMartino, will delve into Korra and Asami’s lives after the events of the show. Fellow co-creator Bryan Konietzko is also “super excited” for the upcoming volumes, now that that the canonical world of Korra will be continuing in the hands of one of its original creators.

Although the comic series has not yet begun, several Korra art books have been released so far, detailing the costume design and aesthetic of the show. Konietzko called the art books a “love letter” for the Korra team, and he also emphasized their importance for fans and cosplayers. In particular, Konietzko expressed delight at the idea of a cosplayer attempting Kuvira’s military wear, or perhaps even the Hummingbird mech.

Creating a costume version of the Hummingbird might require a little more than an art book … but it’s a start?
