It’s Great to Be Batman — Especially When You’re LEGO Batman

Sure, The LEGO Movie was great, but let’s face it. Part of what made it great was that it was really set-up for the movie we really want. That’s right, The LEGO Batman Movie. Honestly, every time I see a new print ad or trailer for it, I want to see it even more. Here’s another one. Try not to be charmed.
Despite his usual dour demeanor and his DARKNESS, NO PARENTS attitude, LEGO Batman seems to be a lot more chill and in touch with his billionaire playboy, party guy side in his solo film outing. Then again, that might be all a front for what he’s really going through. After all, as reported by CBR.com, the film “follows the Dark Knight as he finally confronts his family phobias while also attempting to stop the The Joker’s latest nefarious plans in Gotham City.”
So, there will be family drama. There will also, apparently, be a “kick-butt theme song.” It also has a kick-butt cast, with Will Arnett as Batman, Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as the Joker, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred Pennyworth, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Mariah Carey as Mayor McCasskill, Jenny Slate as Harley Quinn and Billy Dee Williams as Two-Face.
What I love the most, however, is that LEGO Batman doesn’t seem to be any more of a morning person than I am, and we both tend to hiss at direct sunlight. I feel you, dude. I feel you.
The LEGO Batman Movie arrives in theaters February 10th. Will you be there?
