Lin-Manuel Miranda Set to Host Saturday Night Live Next Month, and All Is Right With the World

Recommended Videos

Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of Hamilton and Disney’s current go-to guy, will soon get to demonstrate his comedy chops in front of a live audience. Miranda is set to host the second episode of the upcoming season of Saturday Night Live, featuring musical guest, Twenty-One Pilots.

Now, Twenty-One Pilots are great and all, but like they do with other hosts who are also musically inclined, wouldn’t it have made more sense to have Miranda be his own musical guest? It’s not like SNL shoots in New York, where the rest of the cast of Hamilton on Broadway is easily accessible for numbers from the show or anything. Hell, just have him freestyle for three minutes during two segments!

Or maybe the special musical guest should’ve been J.J. Abrams, and they could’ve performed this together:

Sorry Twenty-One Pilots fans. I’m sure they’ll be awesome.

In any case, the episode is set to air October 8th. Meanwhile SNL’s 42nd season (holy crap!) premieres this Saturday the 1st, hosted by Suicide Squad‘s Margot Robbie with musical guest The Weeknd.
