Watch A Surprisingly Satisfying Takedown Of Buzzfeed’s Editorial Practices [Video]
This will probably be the only original content on the Internet that never appears on Buzzfeed.
Say what you want about the Internet juggernaut Buzzfeed — no, really. Say what you want. They don’t care; they’re too busy making spaghillions of money every time you click on one of their lists. Speaking of which, Maddox of The Best Show In The Universe on Youtube has a lot of gripes that he would like to get off his chest re: Buzzfeed.
It’s really easy to hate on Buzzfeed, we’ll give you that. Maddox, however, makes some pretty good points, most importantly of all that Buzzfeed is a giant corporate business which doesn’t necessarily care about giving fair credit to their original sources. He also outlines a longer argument in this accompanying article on his website, so check that out too while you’re at it.
We’ll leave it up to you to decide whether his complaints have any merit… though, of course, it doesn’t matter in the long run anyway. We can fight against it all we want, but one day Buzzfeed will devour the world whole with its encroaching listsicles. Might as well welcome our meme-based overlords now.

- CNN and Buzzfeed own a Youtube Channel together so that’s a bummer
- PBS attempts to explain viral videos to you
- Politco’s Ben Smith also has some problems with Buzzfeed
