Make Your Own Dancing Groot: A Step-by-Step Guide
Making a real-life Rocket is a much harder, messier process.
The other day we were basically hypnotised by this Vine of a DIY Dancing Baby Groot by Patrick Delehanty. It turns out there’s more video, and Delehanty even put together a step-by-step guide to making your very own.
First, as you may have guessed, Delehanty’s Baby Groot is built around one of those dumb dancing flower toys.
Take all the flower bits off, but leave the dancing stem. Delehanty then wrapped the core of the stem in tan felt and brown twine in a pattern that resembled bark and vines.
But a stick is just a stick without a face, so Delehanty’s fiancée sculpted Groot’s sweet little baby face with Model Magic.
A paint job and some assembly later and BOOM:
It is Groot!
This is just a quick overview. If you want the finer details you’ll have to head over to Delehanty’s Facebook page where he posted these (and more) pictures of the process as well as full descriptions of each step of the process.
