Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel Sequel Adds Ben Affleck’s Argo Screenwriter

Holy Rusted Metal Batman!

This is certainly interesting.

If you’re not the biggest David Goyer fan, you’re in luck. It seems Ben Affleck has brought along a friend for his next superhero ride.

“Warner Bros. is bringing Argo writer Chris Terrio into the Batman-Superman universe,” writes The Hollywood Reporter. “The Oscar-winning writer, who recently changed agencies from CAA to WME, has been brought in to write a draft of the Man of Steel follow-up, the untitled Batman-Superman movie.

Whether you were a fan of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel or not, this move seems like a really positive one to me. Argo was a great film.

THR writes, “David Goyer wrote the screenplay, which is based on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster (Superman) and Bob Kane (Batman). But sources say Terrio has been brought in to get the script in shape before filming begins. Goyer has been tied up with a number of other DC Comics titles including Sandman.”

Besides the Sandman project, Goyer is also working on the Constantine television show. Warner Bros. didn’t comment on the new hire but I have to wonder if Terrio’s addition was part of Affleck saying yes to playing Batman.
